 Unit

The 

 unit consists of the laser diode (semi-conductor laser), the mirror motor ( scanner motor)

which drives the polygon mirror for laser

 and several mirrors and lenses. The laser beam

generated by the laser diode is conducted to the 

 drum surface by way of the polygon mirror,

as well as several mirrors and lenses, to 

 a latent 

 image on the drum.
