WARNING: The fireplace must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical
Code Part 1, Safety Standards For Electrical Installations, or The National Electrical Code
ANSI / NFPA 70 in the US.
WARNING: Disconnect electrical power supply before working on receptacle wiring.
CAUTION: When servicing controls, label all wires prior to disconnection. Wiring errors can cause
improper and dangerous operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. If any of the original wire
supplied with the appliance must be replaced, it must be replaced with 18 AWG wire with a temperature
rating of 105°C.
No external electricity is required to operate the fireplace. This model has a millivolt gas control system
which uses the pilot flame to generate enough electricity to opeate the main burner. External electricity is
only required to operate the convection fan. The electrical receptacle is located in the cabinet on the left
side of the fireplace. Use a T-20 screwdriver to remove the mounting box from the outside of the cabinet.
Remove the cover and receptacle to make appropriate connections. Use the steel strain relief to route the
building power wires and use the plastic strain relief to route the wall switch/thermostat wires. Reinstall
the wired receptacle box back into the cabinet and plug the fan back in.
This fireplace comes from the manufacture with an on/off switch mounted to the control panel (see
Figure 4). Access is limited to the switch once unit is hot. Disconnect the connection behind the switch
in the control panel and tap into the two (2) terminals (see Figure 59).
