System Description

1.1 Introduction

This manual has been written to provide users of the Cabletron Systems
Primary Rate System with all the necessary information to configure and
operate the Quad User Modules.

This chapter provides a brief introduction to the cards, and the Primary
Rate system.

Chapter 2 provides information on the Quad User Modules.

Chapter 3 to 8 provide detailed information on configuration and
operation.

Please refer to

Section 11

for the abbreviations found in this manual,

and

section 12

for the Command Port Menu Diagrams.

Note that SmartSWITCH Backup (SBU) products were previously known
as Cyberbackup (CBU). Therefore all references in product manuals to
‘SBU’ products equally apply to ‘CBU’ products.
