8.4 HART pass-through mode
The HART pass-through mode allows external applications, e.g. FieldCare, to access the HART
devices connected to the Fieldgate, e.g. for parametrization.
For FieldCare, a project is built-up in the normal way, using the FXA520 CommDTM. This is used
to set up communcation and pass-through operation – full instructions are to be found in the DTM
on-line help.
Once the DTM has been set up, the HART devices can be scanned or added individually to the
project. After assignment of the device DTMs, the devices can be configured on-line.
