BlueGuard is a Bluetooth enabled access control device providing an output in the form of relay contacts that activate
when a Bluetooth enabled cell phone finds BlueGuard and the correct PIN is entered. Authorization is confirmed by
verification of the cell phones unique Bluetooth ID. The BlueGuard contacts may be connected to a gate operator or
other external device to allow activation.
BlueGuard’s user interface features a secure, magnetically activated switch to place the unit in the set-up mode.
During set-up BlueGuard reads Bluetooth
devices that are within range and allows the user to select bonding using the
cell phone’s keypad by entering a unique PIN. The PIN prevents unauthorized users from accessing the control
functions or bonding with the unit.
BlueGuard installation, set-up and operation are described in the following sections.
