Using for the first time
– Place the device on an even, non-slip and heat-
resistant surface.
•
The base must not be soft.
•
Please note that plastic or furniture paint may
damage the rubber feet of the unit.
•
Before the first start-up, switch the appliance on at
the highest level with sufficient ventilation and
allow it to heat up for approx. 3 minutes without a
pot. The smoke development that occurs in the
process is of no significance. Ensure sufficient
ventilation through open windows and balcony
doors.
Operation
Check before switching on!
Check to make sure the device is in a safe operating
condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
– Check to make sure all device components are
correctly mounted.
– Check to ensure that all switches have been set
to
[0]
, before plugging the device into the power
socket.
Cooking
– Basically, first place the pot on the hot-plate and
then switch on the appliance.
•
The pot must be clean and dry.
•
Do not use sooty pots.
•
Only use pots with a flat bottom, otherwise the
hot-plate may get damaged.
•
Always make sure that the pot is of at least the
same diameter as the hot-plate; this minimises
the loss of heat and prevents the plate from being
damaged.
– After use, turn the temperature controller back to
the
[0]
position.
– Then disconnect the appliance from the mains by
pulling out the mains plug.

Indicator light
•
The indicator light is on while the hot-plate is heat-
ing up.

As soon as the set temperature is reached, the
indicator light goes out.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning
– After using the hot-plates, wipe off any spilled
food with a damp cloth.
– It is recommended to treat the hot-plates with a
special cleaning product from time to time.
Troubleshooting
What to do when something doesn’t work…
In many cases, small defects can lead to a malfunc-
tion. You will usually be able to deal with these your-
self. Please consult the following table before con-
tacting the store department. This may save you a lot
of effort and quite often money.
Please contact the store directly if you cannot elimi-
nate the error by yourself. Please remember that
repairs carried out by non-professionals will invali-
date your warranty claim and may cause additional
costs.
