Troubleshooting 6-3
Model CAT100
Error Code
Possible Reasons
Check / Remedy
1. Measuring range failure.
Pressure not ins the sensor measuring
range. (800 – 1100 hPa)
2. Connection
faulty.
Check connection P1 for pressure
sensor at BAF01. See Section 5-5a,
page 5-29.
Pressure sensor defective
3. Pressure sensor faulty.
Change pressure sensor.
1. EPROM
faulty.
Exchange EPROM. See Section 5-4o,
page 5-28.
EPROM checksum failure
2. BKS PCB faulty.
Exchange BKS PCB.
Test for RAM defective
1. RAM IC’s on BKS PCB faulty.
Exchange BKS PCB.
Analog output absent
1. BKS PCB faulty.
Exchange BKS PCB.
1. Leakage into gas circuit.
Perform a leakage check. See Sections
2-3 (page 2-11) and 6-2 (page 5-6).
2. Ambient air contains gas
constituent to be measured in
excessive concentration.
Replace absorber material for the light
sources and chopper housing.
Use sealed photometer option.
Flush out the analyzer.
3. Gas pressure subject to
excessive fluctuations.
Check the gas line preceding and
following the sensor cell.
Eliminate any restrictions found beyond
the gas outlet fitting.
Reduce pumping rate or flow rate.
4. Oxygen
sensor
not
connected.
Check connections:
BKS PCB X5 oxygen sensor channel 1.
BKS PCB X6 oxygen sensor channel 2.
5. Electrochemical
oxygen
sensor is already consumed.
Replace sensor. See Section 5-4j, page
5-21.
Fluctuating or erroneous
display
6. IR Channel light source not
connected or faulty.
Check connection:
BKS PCB X3(1/2) light source ch. 1.
BKS PCB X3(4/5) light source ch. 2.
Light source is cold:
For dual infrared channel analyzer,
exchange the two light sources.
Replace the suspected light source. See
Section 5-4d, page 5-18.
