Chapter 4 Electrical Installation

This chapter introduces the electrical installation of the CRV+ air cooled AC unit, including task introduction, notes,

connecting cables of indoor unit and check list.

Note

This air conditioner is a professional device, used in industrial, commercial or other professional occasions. It

is not for sale to general public. Its total rating power is larger than 1kW, complying with IEC61000-3-12

standard. A port with no less than 350 short circuit ratio is required between the user power and the grid. The

user needs to get permission from the power supply department, to ensure that the air conditioner is

connected to a power with no less than 350 short circuit ratio.

4.1 Task Introduction

Wires to be connected in site

1. Power cable and control cable of indoor unit.

2. Solenoid valve cable of pipe extension kit (option to be installed in site).

3. Outdoor unit (air-cooled): control signal cable and power cable.

4. Input and output control cable of the unit.

Installation notes

1. The connection of all power cables, control cables and ground cables should comply with the local and national

electrician regulations.

2. See the unit nameplate for the full load current. The cable sizes should meet the local wiring rules.

3. Mains supply requirement: (380 ~ 415)V ± 10%, 50Hz, 3N~.

4. The power soft cable is Y-type connection. If the power soft cable is damaged, its replacement must be performed

by professional maintenance personnel.

5. The electrical installation and maintenance work must be performed by trained professional installation personnel.

6. Before the wiring, use a voltmeter to measure the power supply voltage and make sure that the power supply has

been switched off.

7. Use screws, guide rails or other modes to fix the device firmly while installing it, to avoid shaking during startup or

operating process.

8. For the air conditioner configured with EC fans, the unit power grid adopts TN or TT star connection power

distribution system. If you need to configure other type of power grid, please consult Emerson Network Power Co.,

Ltd.

9. An appropriate all-pole disconnection device must be supplied.

10. SCCR of CRV+ air cooled AC unit: 5kA.

4.2 Connecting Cables Of Indoor Unit

4.2.1 Electrical Port Location Of Indoor Unit

For the Liebert.CRV+ series unit, open the back door of indoor unit, you can see the specific layout and locations of

low voltage components, as shown in Figure 4-1. For the detailed layout information of low voltage components, refer

to the label pasted on the cabinet for distinguishing.
