6 Transport and storage
The valve is packaged to be protected from contamination. Do not re-
move the packaging until just before installing the valve.
6.1 Transportation
CAUTION
Danger of injury from dropping!
The valve can weigh up to 560 g and injure persons if dropped.
1. Always transport the module carefully.
2. Wear suitable protective clothing, such as safety shoes.
NOTICE
Valve damage due to dropping!
If the module is dropped, the product may be damaged even if no damage is
visible.
1. Always transport the module carefully.
2. If the module is dropped, it must no longer be installed.
3. Check the packaging when you receive the product. If the packaging is
damaged, the module must not be installed.
6.2 Storage
NOTICE
Damage to the TV04-CV valve due to incorrect storage!
Unfavorable storage conditions can result in corrosion and material deteriora-
tion. The maximum storage period is two years.
1. Store the TV04-CV valve only in dry, cool, and corrosion-proof environ-
ments. Avoid direct sunlight.
2. Keep the TV04-CV valve in the original or delivery packaging if you do not
install it immediately.
3. Do not use TV04-CV valves which have been stored for longer than two
years.
7 Assembly
WARNING
Danger of injury due to installation of the product while the system is running!
Installation of the product into a system while it is running can cause major in-
juries from moving parts.
u
Bring the system into a state in which working movements are no longer
possible. Wait until all moving machine parts are standing still, and protect
the system from being switched on.
WARNING
Danger of injury due to suspended loads!
Loads suspended by compressed air can pose a danger if they are not secured
before the pressure is switched off in the system.
1. Guide the loads into a safe position or remove them from the system.
2. You may only then switch off the pressure in the relevant section of the sys-
tem.
WARNING
Danger of injury due to stored energy (compressed air)!
When the system is standing still, there is still a danger due to stored energy
(compressed air).
1. Generally avoid storing compressed air.
2. Exhaust the system in which the valve is to be installed.
3. Remove all other sources of danger in the immediate work area that may
result from stored energy in the system.
NOTICE
Damage to the TV04-CV valve when using the incorrect tightening torque!
Insufficient or excessive tightening torques can result in operating problems or
damage to the product.
u
Note always the tightening torques specified in this operating instruction.
The following must be noted during installation:
• The valve is packaged to be protected from contamination. Do not remove
the packaging until just before installing the valve.
• All compressed air connections and control elements must remain freely ac-
cessible after installation.
• The valve must be attached in such a way that it cannot be loosened by jolts,
vibrations or the like.
7.1 Preparing for assembly
Prepare for assembly as follows:
1. Stop system operation and protect it from being switched on.
2. Return all suspended loads to a statically secure position or remove them
from the system.
3. If required, exhaust stored compressed air from system parts in the immedi-
ate work area.
4. Make sure the relevant section of the system is without pressure or voltage
and protect it from being switched on.
5. Secure self-turning or other movable system parts before starting assembly
and installation.

Fig. 2: Mounting position
The valve must be mounted within ±150° from its horizontal position.
Installation consists of three steps:
• mechanical mounting to the system with three M6x20 screws, tightening
torque 10 ± 0.5 Nm,
• connection to the compressed air supply for the pneumatic system,
• connecting of electrical connector (coil).
