Configuring an EMC Boot Device

Replacing a Boot HBA

If a boot HBA fails, you can replace it with a new one as described in
this section.

EMC Symmetrix

Follow the procedure under

Configuring a Symmetrix Boot Device

EMC CLARiiON

Shut down and power off the server.

◆

Replace the HBA in the identical location and reconnect cabling.

◆

(Fabric configuration only) Repeat the procedure under

Preparing

the Fabric

on page 3-19, and replace the old HBA’s WWPN with

the new HBA’s WWPN.
