UPGRADES AND OTHER PROCEDURES
5.1.
Adding a New Node
1.
Plug in the new node into a free PCI slot.
a.
Note that power does not need to be disconnected first, nor does the device need to be rebooted.
2.
Visit the device's Web Interface.
3.
The Web Interface should issue a prompt to configure the new node. If it does not, click on the "Card
Configuration Wizard" button.
4.
Configure the new node as described in
(p. 15)
5.2.
Replacing a Node
1.
Remove the desired node from a PCI slot.
a.
Note that power does not need to be disconnected first, nor does the device need to be rebooted.
b.
If the node has previous been configured, as described in
(p. 15), the red fault light
will turn on, indicating that a card is unexpectedly missing.
2.
Plug in the new node into the same PCI slot as the old node was removed from.

3.
Visit the device's Web Interface.
4.
The Web Interface should issue a prompt to configure the new node. If it does not, click on the "Card
Configuration Wizard" button.
5.
Configure the new node as described in
(p. 15).
a.
Because the card was replaced, the Web Interface fills out the Wizard with the same values used with the
previous card, however, they can still be changed if necessary.
b.
The red fault light will turn off when the new card is configured.
5.3.
Reconfiguring a Node
1.
Visit the device's Web Interface.
2.
Click on the "Card Configuration Wizard" button.
3.
Configure the new node as described in
(p. 15).
a.
You can safely skip any nodes that do not need to be reconfigured using the "Skip Card" button.
5.4.
Removing a Previously Configured Node
1.
Remove the desired node from a PCI slot.
a.
Note that power does not need to be disconnected first, nor does the device need to be rebooted.
b.
The red fault light will turn on, indicating that a card is unexpectedly missing.
2.
Visit the device's Web Interface.
3.
A warning will be issued at the top of the Web Interface indicating that a card is unexpectedly missing. Click the
"Dismiss" button to clear the message

The red fault light will turn off.
5.5.
Moving a Node to a New Slot
Follow the procedure for Removing a Previously Configured Node, followed by the procedure for Adding a New Node.
5.6.
Factory Reset
1.
Hold down the Reset button for 10 seconds.
a.
While the Reset button is depressed, the red fault light will turn on.
b.
After 10 seconds have elapsed, the red fault light will begin to blink.
2.
Release the button
5.7.
Changing the Firmware
The WattsOn-MCM master device, each node, and the WattsOn-MCM-V all have upgradable firmware.
