Electrical operation of the convection fan 

motor

The  convection  fan  motor  circuit  is  made  up  of  the 

convection fan switch,

the convection fan relay

and the convection fan motor.

When electrical power is applied to the range, power 

is  applied  to  one  side  of  the  convection  fan  switch.  

When the convection fan switch is pushed, closing the 

contacts of the switch, powers applied to the contacts 

of the convection fan motor relay.  The context of the 

convection  fan  relay  are  normally  closed  when  the 

relay is de-energized.  From the contacts of the relay 

powers applied to the convection fan motor causing the 

fan motor to run.  The convection fan relay is placed in 

the circuit to prevent the convection fan from operating  

when the broiler burner is operating.
