5.3 Fitting/removing the sanding/grinding
plate (Fig. 5)
•
Place the open-ended wrench (7) between
the sanding/grinding plate (6) and the
housing,
•
Undo the sanding/grinding plate by turning.
•
Fit a new sanding/grinding plate in reverse
order.
•
Remove the open-ended wrench.
•
Check that the sanding/grinding plate is se-
cure.
5.4 Fastening the abrasive paper
The Velcro fastener enables easy changing of
sanding/grinding paper. Make sure that the va-
cuum extraction holes on the sanding/grinding
paper and the sanding/grinding disk are aligned.
6. Operation
6.1 Connecting to a compressed-air supply
•
Connect the nipple (5) to the quick-lock cou-
pling of a compressed-air hose (the hose is
not supplied).
•
Note the maximum permissible operating
pressure of the equipment.
6.2 Switching On/O
ff
(Fig. 1)
To switch on: Depress the operating switch (2)
To switch o
ff
: Let go of the operating switch (2)
6.3 Setting the speed (Fig. 1)
The equipment speed can be controlled:
•
The control lever (3) points towards the ext-
ractor adapter (1): maximum speed.
•
The control lever points away from the extrac-
tor adapter (1): reduced speed.
•
Check the speed setting before carrying out
any work on the workpiece.
6.4 Working with the eccentric sander/grinder
Important! The workpiece you want to sand/grind
must never be held in your hand. Secure the
workpiece on a sturdy surface or with a vise.
•
Place the whole surface area of the sanding/
grinding disk on the material.
•
Switch on the machine and move it with gent-
le pressure over the workpiece, making circu-
lar or transverse and linear movements.
•
Use a coarse grit for coarse sanding and a
finer grit for finish sanding. You can find the
best grit size for the job by carrying out san-
ding/grinding tests.
Important!
The dusts which are formed while the equipment
is being used may be a health hazard:
•
Always wear safety goggles and a dust mask
during sanding/grinding work.
•
All persons who work with the equipment or
enter the workplace must wear a protective
dust mask.
•
Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited
at the workplace.
•
Paints containing lead are not allowed to be
used!
7. Replacing the power cable
Danger!
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its
authorized after-sales service or similarly trained
personnel to avoid danger.
8. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering of spare parts
Danger!
Always pull out the mains power plug before star-
ting any cleaning work.
8.1 Cleaning
•
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it with compressed air at low
pressure.
•
We recommend that you clean the device
immediately each time you have finished
using it.
•
Clean the equipment regularly with a moist
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these could
attack the plastic parts of the equipment. En-
sure that no water can seep into the device.
