Note - important !

Caution:
When the pump is to be used near
swimming pools, garden ponds, shal-
low ponds, fountains etc., it must be
equipped definitely with a ground-fault
circuit interruptor (max. fault current 30
mA according to VDE specification
0100, part 702).
The pump must not be operated while
people are in the swimming pool or in
the garden pond!
Please contact your electrician!

The pump may only be used to

transport uncontaminated water at a
maximum temperature of 40° C.

Transport of corrosive liquids (acids,

alkaline, liquids, silo percolating
juice, fuels etc.) as well as abrasive
materials (sand) must be avoided.

The pump must not be allowed to

run dry.

The pump must be completely

emptied if a danger of frost exists.

The pump must be left in water.

Electrical connections must be
protected from water.

Access to the pump  by children

must be prevented with appropriate
measures.

Do not use tools such as pipe

wrenches to fasten the accessory
parts made of plastic included in
delivery such as the suction hose,
threaded nipple, hose coupling and
suction valve. They must be fasted
manually only.

Electrical connection

Electrical connection requires
attachment to protective contact
socket 230 V ~ 50 Hz. Fuse  protection
must be at least 10 ampere.

The pump is switched on and off with
the built in switch.

The motor is protected against overlo-
ad or blockage by the built in tempera-
ture guard. In case of overheating, the
temperature guard switches off and
switches back on automatically after
cooling.

Damaged or defective plugs and
mains lines must be exchanged for
new, equivalent parts.

ATTENTION!
Connection may only be performed by
trained personnel.

Suction line

Screw the suction line connection to
the thread nipple included in delivery
with the short thread side into the
suction connection.

Manually screw on the suction hose
included in delivery with the threaded
nut to the threaded nipple.

Manually screw the suction valve
included in delivery to the suction to
the suction hose. A flap valve should
be installed in the suction line in case
the delivered suction valve connot be
used.

Install the suction line from the point of
water extraction to the pump at a rising
angle. It is absolutely necessary to
avoid installing the suction line above
pump level since air bubbles in the
suction line delay and prevent intake.

The suction and pressure line must be
attached so that there is no mechani-
cal  pressure on the pump.

The suction valve must be submerged
deep enought into the water to avoid
dry operation should the water level
drop.

Air intake due to leaky suction line
prevents water intake.

Avoid intake of foreign materials (sand
etc.) and install a preliminary filter if
necessary.

Connection of pressure
line:

The enclosed hose elbow union with
screw coupling is provided for connec-
tion of the pressure line (turn by hand
into the threaded union of the pump’s
pressure line).
The hose elbow union enables the use
of a 1“ pressure hose.
Of course, a 3/4“ or 1/2“ pressure hose
can also be used in conjunction with
appropriate screw couplings. The
small pressure hose, however, causes
the flow rate to decrease.

Operation start

Install pump on a level and stable
area.

Attach operation ready suction line.

Set up electrical connection.

Fill pump with water at pressure
connection.

Connect pressure line and open shut-
off devices so that air possibly in the
suction line from intake is allowed to
escape (spray jets or valves.)

Initial intake may require between 0.5
min. to 5 min. depending on intake
height and air volume. Water should
be refilled in case of extended intake
operation periods.

If the pump is removed after use, it is
absolutely necessary to fill it with water
when it is reconnected.

Maintenance instructions

The pump is generally maintenance-
free. But  we recommend regular
checks and care to extend it life.

ATTENTION!
Remove mains plug each time before
performing maintenance work.

The pump must be thoroughly cleaned
with water, completely emptied, dried
and stored before extended storage
periods or for winter storage.

The pump must be completely emptied
if there is a danger of frost.

Following extended periods of disuse,
check if the motor rotates smoothly by
quickly switching in on and off.

Should the pump become blocked,
connect the pressure line to the water
line and remove the suction line. Open
the water line. Switch the pump
repeatedly on for two seconds.
Blockages can be cleared in most
cases using this method.
