Secure the GPS and Set Up the Calibration Object
To acquire images for calibration, use the GPS Acquisition software
and do the following.
WARNING: Moving parts are a pinch-and-crush hazard. When
adjusting the GPS dome, keep all clothing, hair, and body parts
well away from moving parts to prevent injury.
CAUTION: Hand loosen and tighten (until snug) the upper
gantry’s locking handle to prevent damage (gouges or scrapes)
to the gantry when raising and lowering the GPS dome.

Ensure that all four casters are locked.

Hand loosen the upper gantry’s locking handle
counterclockwise about two turns.

Raise the upper gantry and dome enough to place the
calibration object (on its stand) within the dome’s area
without tipping the object
.
From behind the GPS , hold both handle bars on the upper gantry and
manually raise the upper gantry and dome.

Hand tighten the upper gantry’s locking handle clockwise
about two turns, until snug. Do not overtighten.

Position the object so that it is generally centered horizontally
within the dome’s area.

Hand loosen the gantry’s locking handle.

Lower the upper gantry and dome until the calibration object
is
vertically centered within the dome’s area.
From behind the GPS , hold both handle bars on the upper gantry and
manually lower the upper gantry and dome.

Hand tighten the upper gantry’s locking handle.

Reposition the calibration object such that camera targets 1
through 11 are pointing toward their corresponding cameras.
