2.1.1.1
Cameras
The GPS uses 11 cameras to acquire images of sensor positions. The
camera lenses have very low radial distortion, typically less than one
pixel over the field of view. The cameras are defined by 11 radial
parameters:
•
camera location (radius, theta, and phi)
•
camera angle (theta, phi, and rotation)
•
pixel scale and pixel aspect ratio
•
other camera variables (focal length, u offset, and v offset)
2.1.2
Gantry
The gantry has two main sections:
•
A lower stationary section that remains secured to the floor
with four locking casters.
•
An upper adjustable section that the dome is attached to.
The upper gantry has
two handle bars
for safely and smoothly
raising and lowering the dome during use. See section 2.3.
The gantry has two built-in stops:
•
A top (positive) stop that allows the dome to reach its
uppermost position.
•
A bottom (negative) stop that allows the dome to reach its
lowermost position.
