Terminal Cover Tamper Detect
The meter has an optional switch that can detect the opening of the terminal cover. It is
located above and to the left of the terminals (See Figure 5-12). The meter can generate
an EFA alarm and an event in the log when the switch is released by someone opening
the terminal cover.

Inside the Meter
Removing the two sealable screws at the top of the meter allows the meter back cover to
be removed, which swings away from the back of the meter. Generally connections to
the meter do not need to be detached to allow the cover to be removed, but the meter
cannot be mounted on a surface, and the terminal cover must be removed. Removal of
the back cover is required to access the
Config Jumper
.
Care must be taken as dangerous voltages are present in the circuitry inside the meter
while the meter is active.
Even when the meter is not powered, care should be taken to prevent electrostatic
damage to the circuitry of the meter.
CT to VT Links
The meter does not have removable CT to VT links. If testing the meter on a test bench,
the test bench must be able to properly handle the permanent VT to CT connection.
Config Jumper
The
Config
jumper offers a level of hardware security to the meter – the jumper needs to
be fitted to allow calibration and recovery of lost passwords. In the Mk7C the jumper is
not permanently fitted. A connection must be made on the circuit board to enable the
