The second karabiner must not be attached to load-bearing
elements of the set or the securing harness.

Before using the via ferrata set, check it for possible
previous straining. If a damper system has been strained
beyond its strain limit, the set must be replaced.

SAFETY NOTICES
When combining this product with other components, the
safety aspects of the products may interfere with each other.
This equipment should only be used in connection with parts
of personal protective equipment (PPE) bearing the CE-symbol
to secure individuals against falls from heights.
Fig. 8:
The Via Ferrata set is approved exclusively for users
with a total weight (climber including equipment) of more than
40 kg and less than 120 kg.
Fig. 9:
Outside the admissible total weight of the user, the
climber must be additionally secured with a rope conforming
to EN 892, EN 1891, or a comparable PPE system for securing
of top rope climbers.
Attention!
If the Via Ferrata set is supplied without sewn-in
karabiners, only self-locking Via Ferrata karabiners to EN 12275,
type K, must be used!
If original components are modified or removed from the
product, its safety aspects may be restricted. The equipment
should not be modified in any way or altered to allow attach-
ment of additional parts without the manufacturer’s written
recommendation.
It is strictly forbidden to knot the via ferrata set’s arms or
manipulate the breaking system.
Prior to and after use the product must be checked for pos-
sible damage; fitness for use and perfect function must be
ensured. The equipment must be discarded immediately if
there is even the slightest doubt as to its serviceability.
The product has to be checked at least once a year by a
qualified person.
If the product is being used for rental purposes, the lender/
owner is responsible for the inspection of the product both
before handing it out to the user and on its return after being
used.
Attention!
The products must be kept away from damaging
environments. This includes contact with abrasive and ag-
gressive substances (e.g. acids (battery acid!), alkalis, soldering
water, oils, cleaning agents), as well as extreme temperatures
and flying sparks. In addition, sharp edges, wetness and es-
pecially icing-up can diminish the stability of textiles.
Attention!
Use of a Via Ferrata set generally entails a hazard
of strangulation between the two lanyards.
Attention!
In case of a fall from a via ferrata, serious injury of
the user may occur although the product is functioning properly.
Additionally, the dampening system is only capable of com-
pensating for a fall within the scope defined in the standard.
Securing by a partner using an additional rope is mandatory
in the following cases:
- uncertainty or inexperience on the part of the user
- potential fall heights of 5 metres or more
- if persons weigh less than the minimum or more than the
maximum allowed. In case of such users, the via ferrata set
may not reach its optimum dampening effect.
- if the dampening system has been subjected to a dynamic
fall strain. (Note the mark at the trigger position, Fig. 3)
