7.2 Automatic group cleaning and degreasing of the brew groups
A brew group cleaner (in powder or tablet form) is available at your specialized dealer. The cleaning is carried out
using the blind filter included with delivery.

Heat up the machine.

Insert the blind filter into the porta filter.

Fill the blind filter with the group cleaning powder or with one tablet.

Clamp the porta filter into the brew group.

Start the brew group cleaning mode by simultaneously pressing the Star-button and button no. 1 on the key pad
of the respective brew group. The cleaning mode commences, a flashing light appears on the control panel
which blinks on and off in several intervals. The cleaning program stops automatically after five cleaning cycles
(the pump runs for 15 seconds, turns off for 20 seconds, runs for 15 seconds, etc.).

Remove the porta filter with the blind filter and rinse it with fresh water. Then clamp it back into the brew group.

Start the cleaning cycle again without using detergent and repeat step no. 5.

Afterwards, unclamp the porta filter, take out the blind filter and reinsert the coffee filter into the porta filter.
Clamp the porta filter back into the brew group.
Caution!
Beware of hot water sprayings while cleaning the brew group.
7.3 Draining the boiler

Heat up the machine and then switch the machine off.

Interrupt the water supply by closing down the fixed water connection.

Open the hot water valve (caution: hot water may spray).

The water is released into the collection container through the drainage hose.

When the boiler is empty, close the hot water valve.

7.4 Maintenance
Replacing the group gasket and the shower screen

Switch off the machine, disconnect the power cord and make sure that the machine is cooled down to room
temperature.

It is recommended to remove all the removable parts (cup warming tray, water tank, drip tray), then turn the
machine over.

Loosen the countersunk screw in the middle of the brew group and the shower plate with an Allen key
(3 mm)

The shower screen and the shower holder (brass) can be removed easily.
5.
Under the shower holder is a thin ring, the gasket of the shower plate (item. no. C449900790).

The group gasket (item no. C449900229) can only be removed by inserting a thin screwdriver between shower
holder and group gasket. Pry out the group gasket (the old group gasket will be damaged / destroyed).

Clean the groove completely, before installing the new group gasket. When inserting the group gasket, make
sure that the bevelled side (side with ECM on it) is facing upwards so that it is no longer visible.

Press the group gasket gradually into the pre-cleaned groove.
9.
Then screw in the shower plate (item no. C519900102) and the shower holder.
10.
In order to ensure that the group gasket is inserted properly, carefully clamp a portafilter without filter into the
brew group.
