Use
These instructions are intended solely to assist with replacing
the impeller of the ArgoDrive driving/steering system.

Safety regulations and
information
Read these instructions carefully before starting work. Observe
the following warnings to avoid personal injury or malfunctions.
The device is only to be sold or passed on together with the
instructions. Make sure the driving/steering system operat-
ing instructions and these installation instructions are always
to hand at the installation location. These installation instruc-
tions may be duplicated and distributed to inform others about
potential dangers and their prevention.
2.1 Hazard levels for warning notices
These installation instructions use the following hazard lev-
els to indicate potentially hazardous situations and important
safety regulations:
Danger
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which
will result in serious injury or even death if the
specified actions are not taken. Compliance with the
instructions is imperative.
Warning
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which
results in serious injury or even death if the specified
actions are not taken. Exercise extreme caution while
working.
Caution
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which
results in slight or minor injury or damage to property if
the specified actions are not taken.
Note
A potentially harmful situation can occur and, if not
avoided, will lead to property damage.
2.2 Personnel qualifications
The device is only to be transported, unpacked, installed, oper-
ated, maintained and otherwise used by suitably qualified,
trained and authorized technical staff. Only authorized special-
ists are permitted to install the device, to put it into operation
and to perform work on the electrical installation.
2.3 Basic rules for safety
Note the following when working on the device:
The product is not to be modified or converted, and no
attachments are to be fitted, without the approval of ebm-
papst.
2.4 Voltage
Check the electrical equipment of the product at regular
intervals.
Replace any loose connections or defective cables immedi-
ately.
Warning
Live terminals and connections even with the device
switched off
Electric shock!
Wait five minutes after disconnecting the voltage
at all poles before opening the device or removing
the driving/steering system.
2.5 Hot surface

Risk of burns
Allow the device to cool down before starting
disassembly.
2.6 Storage
Store the product, partially or fully assembled, in a dry and
weatherproof manner in the original packaging in a clean
environment.
Protect the product against environmental influences and
dirt until final installation.
We recommend storing the product for no longer than two
years in order to guarantee trouble-free operation and the
longest possible service life.
Observe the correct storage temperature.
2.7 Disposal
Comply with all relevant local requirements and regulations
when disposing of the product.
