OEM J1939 Based Shift Devices
• OEM shift device shall connect to the vehicle’s J-1939 communications bus.
• OEM shift device shall provide separate indication of a requested neutral state via TCM pins J1-16 and J1-17.
• The OEM shall indicate neutral request to the TCM by bringing a 5 ± 10% volt signal through a 1000 ohm resistor to
less than 1.2 VDC at TCM pin J1-16 with respect to J1-17.
• The OEM shall indicate a non-neutral state request by providing an impedance of 10,000 ohms ± 1% across TCM J1-16
and J1-17.
