The Connection Object (Class Code 05

) is supported by every single
DeviceNet device in at least one instance. This object defines the connection
to data via I/O messages or explicit messages, the path and length of
producer/consumer data, the CAN identifier used for the connection, the
corresponding watchdog timer, and the response in the event of a fault
scenario.
Class Attributes
Explicit Messages
Explicit messages are used to transmit low-priority configuration data,
general management data and diagnostic data between two specific devices.
They are always sent using a point-to-point connection in a client/server
system, which means that a client request must always be followed by a
server response.
