WARNING

Dangerous voltages are present. Equipment damage, personal injury, and death can result if

safety precautions are not followed. Use authorized utility procedures to install, test, and service the RLY-800.

Introduction

This instructional leaflet contains general installation
information for the RLY-800 Radio Frequency Relay.

The RLY-800 is a component of the Cooper Power
Systems™ RF mesh network that is used to enhance
two-way communications coverage.

Use the RLY-800 to:

Build out the RF mesh network infrastructure in
areas where end-points are too spread out to
effectively form a mesh network

Extend RF communications into rural areas

Build out a communications network for demand
response, C&I metering or water metering before
residential AMI meters are installed

The device can be powered from a street light,
transformer or other power source.

Three configurations are available for the RLY-800:

Internal antenna

External attached antenna

External remote antenna

No special test equipment or programming is
required to install the RLY-800 in the field. Once
powered up, the RLY-800 automatically connects to
the Cooper Power Systems RF mesh network.
