The MusicMatch software you installed in Chapter
3 allows you to convert music tracks from any sup-
ported format to MP3 files. This conversion, some-
times called “ripping,” is like recording your CDs to
another medium. Once the tracks are ripped onto
your PC’s hard drive, you can then transfer them to
the Odyssey 200.
However, if you downloaded MP3 files via the
Internet or have already ripped MP3 files from your
music CD collection, you can skip this section and
proceed to
Connect the USB Cable on page 30
and then Download Files To Player on page 31.

below instructions.
• If you are using a Mac, go to Configure
MusicMatch for Macs on page 28.
Configure
MusicMatch
for Windows
Before you can start ripping music, you must con-
figure which encoding rate you want to use and
where the new files will be stored on your PC.
MusicMatch includes a CD Lookup feature to
display track, album title, and artist information for
a music CD in your PC’s CD drive. This feature is
possible when your PC is connected to the Internet,
otherwise, each track is labeled with a number.
The settings described in the following pages are
suitable for most users. If you require additional
