3.
The system will detect that the rack has been inserted and will have read the position,
diameter height and barcode label of each tube.
The LEDs in front of the sample trays indicate the status of the slots:
• White Light - Samples can be loaded (the sample rack position is empty)
• Green Light - Samples have been accepted (the sample Rack has been loaded
successfully and all detected tubes have an associated Sample ID, either scanned or
manually edited). The samples in the rack are ready for use but no current worklist
for samples on the rack exists.
• Red light - An error has been observed during the loading of the rack. There are two
possible errors; a rack detection error or the sample barcode was not successfully
read. A sample alert will be displayed on the screen to alert the operator to reload or
retry the scanning of the rack.
• Blue Light - The samples are being analyzed. The sample rack light will change from
green to blue when at least one sample on the rack has been included in a running
worklist.
Sample racks must not be removed while the light is solid blue!
• Flashing Blue Light - Samples can be removed. All samples on the rack have
completed the pipetting operation and have no further pending worklist pipette tasks.
The rack can be removed or currently loaded samples can be added to another
worklist (the light will revert to solid white when samples are removed).
4.
If all sample IDs in the rack are read correctly, the rack indicator light will turn orange
briefly and then green.
5.
When a rack is scanned, the
Sample Rack Status
screen (Figure 4-13) may be
accessed.
