obstructions and any other potential hazards in
the area.
Before Starting the Engine
• Inspect the roller for potential hazards.
• Adjust the rear view mirrors for good visibility.
• Make sure that the controls are in the neutral
position and the parking brake is applied.
• Make sure that there is no one in the immedi-
ate vicinity and there are no obstructions
around the machine.
Starting the Equipment
• Do not start the engine or move any of the
controls if there is a warning tag attached to
the controls. Check with the person who
attached the tag before starting.
• Read and follow all the instruction decals.
• Before starting the engine, check that all the
gear controls are in neutral position.
•
Always inspect the motor before and after
starting.
• Check all the safety devices. Report any
defects immediately.
• Listen for unusual noises.
• Engage hydraulic controls slowly in cold
weather to avoid shock loading.
Parking the Roller
• Select the level and hard ground. If necessary
to park on the slope, block the front of the
drums on the downside of the slope.
• Apply break in an emergency conditions.
2/3 of the drum width on the solid ground.
Not e
The machine's center of gravity moves
outwards when steering. For example,
the center of gravity moves to the right
when you steer to the left.
Not e
Never operate machine on side
slopes. The machine may roll over,
even on stable ground. Always
operate the machine parallel to the
slope; never perpendicular.
Figure 2-1:Position of the Drum
Slopes
The slope angle is measured on a hard, flat
surface with the machine stationary. The steering
angle was zero, the vibration was switched OFF
and all tanks were full.
