t0 100 mm) along the mast or structure. Route cable to avoid sharp edges or unsupported
horizontal spans.
4.3 Wiring
4.3.1 Wiring Configuration
UA-1 ships with shielded, 4-conductor, outdoor-rated instrumentation cable. The RS-485
(Modbus) connection is a two-wire, half-duplex configuration.
In RS-485 networks, the signal polarity is indicated by a '+' or 'A' and the opposite signal is
indicated by a '-' or 'B'. Some systems use a two-wire configuration and other systems use a
four-wire configuration. Dyacon sensors use a two-wire configuration.
When connecting a Dyacon sensor to a four-wire device, the transmit and receive signals for
each signal polarity are tied together. This means that TX+ and RX+ are tied together on the
host controller as are TX- and RX-.
