6.2.1

CHECK THE OIL LEVEL AND THE ABSENCE OF WATER VAPOUR CONDENSED IN THE TANK

Check that oil level is at mid-range of the oil level indicator light or the oil viewer. If not, see instructions in paragraph
5.1.1. “Filling the oil tank”.
Check oil conditions. When dark or cloudy, oil has been contaminated by intake substances and must be changed.
Check there are no water vapours condensed on the bottom of the tank through the oil viewer. Otherwise, open the oil
discharge valve slightly, let the condensed water vapour flow out and close it again as soon as the oil starts to come out.
Then, check the oil level and, if necessary, top up following the indications in paragraph 5.1.1.

6.2.2

CHECK THE STATUS OF THE INTAKE FILTER (ONLY LB.5WR)

Before  operating  on  the  intake  filter,  isolate  the  pump  from  the  user  system  through  a  valve,  or  restore  the
atmospheric pressure inside the filter. For this purpose there is a valve on the filter that can be opened to restore
the pressure inside see chap. 3.3).
If there is any liquid in the filter, it is necessary to drain it by opening the valve on the bottom of the filter. When all
the liquid has been removed, close the valve again.

6.2.3

CHANGE OIL

Change oil as follows:

  let the pump run with closed suction intake for about 10 minutes first so oil will become thinner;

  stop the pump and disconnect it from the mains;

  undo the oil filler plug;

  get a container large enough to hold all oil and open the oil drainage valve;

  drain out all oil;

  close drainage valve and fill in fresh oil through the filler plug up to mid-range on the oil sight glass;

  close the oil filler plug;

  connect to mains again and verify correct rotation direction of the pump (see chap. 3.3.);

  let the pump run with closed intake for a few minutes and then, if necessary, top up oil if necessary.

HAZARD
Wear appropriate personal protection equipment to perform said operations.

HAZARD
Comply with local regulations regarding the collection and disposal of used or polluted oil.

6.2.4

INTAKE FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT (ONLY LB.5WR)

Remove the transparent cover from the filter using the key provided and unscrew the filtering cartridge by hand.
Screw the new cartridge into the housing and assemble the cover, checking that the seal ring is present and taking
care not to tighten excessively.

6.2.5

CLEAN MOTOR FAN GUARD AND CLEAN THE PUMP

Radiator, motor fan guard and the pump should be cleaned to remove any dust deposits.
This can be done using compressed air and a dry cloth.
Do not use fluids or substances other than those indicated.

HAZARD
Wear appropriate personal protection equipment to perform said operations.

6.2.6

CHANGE THE AIR EXHAUST FILTER

The instructions for replacing the air exhaust filter are available upon request.

6.2.7

CHANGE VANES

The instructions for replacing vanes are available upon request.
