Cartridge Dust Collector
DUST COLLECTOR ELECTRICAL SEQUENCE
OF OPERATION
The PC controller card is equipped equipped with toggle
switches which allow the following sequence of operation
modes:
1. Single and multi-pulse downtime cleaning cycle with
built-in air compressor.
2. Single and multi-pulse downtime cleaning cycle with
customer-supplied compressed air.
For single- and multi-pulse downtime cleaning cycles
with a built-in air compressor, the dust collector operates
by the following sequence:
1. Energizing the motor/blower starter contactor closes
the auxiliary contact circuit (AUX/MOT) input on the
PC controller board. The “system” LED continuously
illuminates and the air compressor energizes (CMP
contacts on the PC board close to allow power to air
compressor). The CMP contacts remain in a closed
position until the pressure in the air manifold reaches
93 PSIG (6.5 BAR). At 93 PSIG (6.5 BAR), the
pressure switch contacts change to an open position
signaling the PC board “SW PRESS” contacts to de-
energize the compressor (CMP contacts change to an
open position).
If the dust collector blower is running (motor starter
auxiliary contacts “1M-B” is in the closed position), the
system is in “wait mode of operation” (“system” LED
continuously illuminates). The air compressor may
operate to maintain 93 PSIG (6.5 BAR) pressure in
the air manifold reservoir.
2. Once the blower is de-energized and motor starter
auxiliary contacts (1M-B) change to the open position,
“system” LED starts to continuously flash, indicating
the start of a cleaning cycle.
3. Controller card will initiate a 60- to 62-second blower
coast downtime delay.
4. Diaphragm valve(s) will activate for 1 second (“pulse”
LED will illuminate during pulse discharge operation).
5. For single-pulse cycle downtime cleaning, the
“system” lED will stop flashing and de-energize
indicating cleaning system is complete.
For a two- or three-pulse multi-cycle downtime
cleaning configuration, the air compressor will
automatically re-energize and fill the air manifold
reservoir to 93 PSIG (6.5 BAR) pressure. Once the
air manifold reaches 93 PSIG (6.5 BAR), the pressure
switch will operate and the air compressor will be de-
energized. The refilling process takes approximately
3-4 minutes to complete.
6. The second pulse cleaning operation is now
energized. The diaphragm valve(s) will activate for 1
second (“pulse” LED will illuminate during pulse
discharge operation). The second pulse multi-cycle
downtime cleaning operation is now complete. The
“system” LED will now stop flashing and de-energize,
indicating cleaning system is complete.
For the third pulse multi-cycle downtime cleaning
configuration, the air compressor will automatically re-
energize and fill the air manifold reservoir to 93 PSIG
(6.5 BAR), the pressure switch will operate and the air
compressor will be de-energized.
7. The third pulse cleaning operation is now energized.
The diaphragm valve(s) will activate for 1 second
(“pulse” LED will illuminate during pulse discharge
operation). The third pulse multi-cycle downtime
cleaning operation is now complete. The “system”
LED will now stop flashing and de-energize, indicating
cleaning system is complete.
For single and multi-pulse downtime cleaning cycles
with customer-supplied compressed air, the dust
collector operates by the following sequence:
NOTE:
The pressure switch (SW PRESS) and air
compressor (CMP) terminals on the PC
controller card are not connected since these
items are not required nor supplied with the dust
collector in customer-supplied compressed air
configuration.
1. Energizing the motor/blower starter contactor closes
the auxiliary contact circuit (AUX/MOT) input on the
PC controller board. The “system” LED continuously
illuminates.
If the dust collector blower is running (motor starter
auxiliary contacts “1M-B” is in the closed position), the
cleaning system is in “wait mode of operation”
(“system” LED continuously illuminates). The
customer must supply 93 PSIG (6.5BAR) of clean,
dry, oil-free compressed air to the air manifold
reservoir.
2. Once the blower is de-energized, motor starter
auxiliary contacts (1M-B) change to the open position,
“system” LED starts to continuously flash, indicating
the start of a cleaning cycle.
3. Controller card will initiate a 60- to 62-second blower
coast downtime delay.
4. Diaphragm valve(s) will activate for 1 second (“pulse”
LED will illuminate during pulse discharge operation).
5. For single-pulse cycle downtime cleaning, the
“system” lED will stop flashing and de-energize
indicating the cleaning system is complete.
For a two- or three-pulse multi-cycle downtime
cleaning configuration, the controller card will initiate a
210 second time delay to allow the air manifold
reservoir to recharge from plant compressed air
system.
