USER ADVICE

his guide is to enable you to take full advantage of the many features of the Modulo Comfort Wheelchair.
The Modulo Comfort is an aid to living providing comfort, reliability and flexibility.
GENERAL HYGIENE ADVICE
It is highly recommended that your chair is regularly cleaned. Cleaning advice appears in the following pages.
If a chair is stored for some time the wheelchair should be cleaned before use. For hire purposes the wheel-
chair must be cleaned between hire periods.
FOR BETTER STABILITY
Your wheelchair will be perfectly stable under normal operating conditions. Users should use the four optio-
nal seating positions only.
HOW TO GO UP A SLOPE SELF PROPELLED
Incline the body forwards. Always check the road conditions looking at levels and gradients and be aware of
potholes and uneven surfaces that could destabilise the wheelchair.
HOW TO GO DOWN A SLOPE SELF PROPELLED
Incline the body backwards. Always check the road conditions as above and use the pushrim on the wheel.
HOW TO NAVIGATE OBSTACLES

lways go slowly over the obstacle with the front castors, pause and then clear the obstacle with the rear
wheels. If in any doubt ask for assistance or try another direction.
TO BEND FORWARDS IN A STATIONERY WHEELCHAIR
Firstly check that the brakes are fully on and locked into place
Lean forward from the seated position making sure that the footrests are not used. If in doubt please ask for
assistance.
TO GET SOMETHING FROM BEHIND A STATIONERY WHEELCHAIR
Get as close as possible to the object that you want to get. Do not lock the brakes and manoeuvre yourself
backwards to get as close as possible. Do not attempt to tip yourself back in the chair. If in doubt please ask
for assistance.
TO BEND SIDEWAYS IN A STATIONARY CHAIR.
Lean sideways out of the chair, but no more than 7% from the seated position. If in doubt ask for assistance
