1.2 Intended Use
The air extraction monitor with fan and activated carbon filter is used
to extract air from safe-storage cabinets and chemical storage cabinets
equipped with an air extraction connector. Two-stage filtering decontami-
nates the extracted air and releases it to the ambient air thereafter.
The monitor can be used for the extraction of a large number of chemicals.
The repository in the appendix of this manual lists the substances for
which appropriate filtering performance can be warranted. If substances
not included in the repository are meant to be filtered, the filtering perfor-
mance has to be confirmed by DÜPERTHAL prior to the start of operation.
Feel free to consult with us on any questions related to product use.
The product has to be installed outside of areas at risk of formation
of explosive atmospheres. It shall be used exclusively for the positive
extraction of air from safety cabinets of which the interior has been de-
fined as Ex zone 2 at the maximum. Flammable substances only of the
temperature classes T1 - T4 and also of the gas or explosion groups
II
A
and
II
B shall be extracted. Refer to the respective Material Safety Data
Sheet for information on gas group and temperature class.
The product is suitable only for fluid flows not transporting any particles
or foreign bodies. When the unit is used, no EX atmosphere must form
in any event.
Only such substances are acceptable for extraction that do not compro-
mise the PPs connector sleeve, the PVC suction hose, the filters, and the
fan. The relevant list of substances can be provided by the manufacturer
in a digital format.
Caution
Any and all uses other than the above-described is prohibited
and may cause hazardous situations, potentially danger of
death, damage to the system and material property, and will
cancel any and all warranty and liability for the product on the
part of its manufacturer and distributor.
In particular, the use of the unit is prohibited for substances
of which extracterd air must not be released to the work
area, e. g., cancer-producing, germ cell-mutagenic, and
reproduction-toxic substances.
The unit allows the use of various types of activated carbon
filter. Be sure that the installed filter is the proper one for the
intended purpose
per the substance list
in the appendix.

the storage of hazardous substances, the ISO 13857 standard, and any
and all other applicable codes and standards.
Prior to operating the product, the user is required to perform a risk as-
sessment based on the substances that are going to be stored.
If the
extracted air is released to the work area, the applicable occupa-
tional exposure limits must never be exceeded.
