If the handgrips are activated, the Instrument panel warns
the user upon every key-on (warning displayed for 5 seconds)
and every 5 minutes while running (warning displayed for 5
seconds) by indicating ”H. GRIPS ACTIVATED” (fig. 40).

Note

In particular, if heating is activated and engine is turned

off, the heated handgrips are ”temporarily” disabled but the
warning message will still be active; heating will
automatically be reactivated when engine is started again.

Note

Handgrips heating involves a high current absorption

that might discharge the battery at low rpm; if battery is not
fully charged (below 11.9 Volt), handgrips heating is disabled
to preserve starting ability; it will become active again when
battery voltage is above the specified value
