2.8 Operation in the transition period
The function of your chimney may be increasingly impaired if the outside temperature exceeds
around 15°C. The small temperature differences result in an ever decreasing chimney draught, with
other potential consequences including poor ignition behaviour, unsatisfactory burning, increased
formation of smoke gas with soot build-up on the window, and smoke escaping when the stove door
is opened. In the event of poor ignition behaviour, a pilot fire sometimes helps. Use some crumpled up
pages of a newspaper as kindling. This short-term, intense heat can help to dissipate an accumulation
of smoke.
2.9 Environmental protection
Heating with wood is a climate-neutral and environmentally friendly way
of generating heat, since wood is stored solar energy and a stove does not
contribute to global warming.
Even at the design stage of our stoves, we do everything we can to ensure that
the combustion process is environmentally friendly. But we also need your
cooperation to ensure that our stoves not only operate on a climate-neutral
basis, but also with low levels of emissions!
Only use well-dried logs or wood briquettes. If you want less heat, simply add less wood. Attempting
to reduce the heat output by severely restricting the air supply leads to a dark flame pattern, sooty
windows and unnecessarily high emissions!
2.10 Recycling
We are passionate about developing climate-neutral and low-emission heating systems, although this is
not the only consideration close to our hearts: we also have sustainability firmly in mind when designing
and manufacturing our stoves. This is why we have made sure that 99% of your stove can be recycled.
What’s more, our recycling-friendly design means all parts can be easily dismantled, which allows recycling
companies to be particularly thorough and efficient when it comes to feeding sorted materials into the
recycling process.
Your specialist retailer will usually be happy to collect your old appliance and take it to a recycling facility,
but you are also welcome to contact us directly to arrange the disposal for you free of charge in a way
that conserves resources for the environment.
