INSTALLATION
1.1 Delivery of the stove
Please check your stove carefully on delivery to ensure it is in perfect condition. Take particular care to
check for potential damage that may have been caused by improper transport (for example, to the
glass window or firebricks in the firebox). Do not accept goods that are obviously damaged. Report
any defects to your specialist retailer immediately.
1.2 Finding the perfect spot
When deciding where to install your stove, consider the most straightforward position for
connecting it to the chimney. The exact requirements must be obtained from a responsible
chimney sweep and taken into account before installing the stove. Please be aware that approval
is required to operate a stove in Germany.
The floor at the installation site must be level and horizontal. Please check the load-bearing
capacity of the supporting foundations prior to installation. The use of a non-combustible base
plate distributes the weight of the stove over a larger area. For the exact weight of your stove,
including the cladding and accessories, please refer to the modelspecific ‘Technical Information’
data sheet.
The floor in front of the stove must be made of a fireproof, non-combustible material (such as tiles
or a hearth). This non-combustible area must extend beyond your stove by at least 50 cm at the
front and 30 cm at the sides, measured from the edge of the firebox. Please note that if you have
a rotating stove or use a rotating plate, the safety area must be maintained throughout the entire
range of rotation.
Ensure that there are no heat-sensitive or flammable objects in the radiation area of the glass
window (please refer to the ‘Technical Information’ data sheet for details on distances).
Your stove and the connecting piece (flue) must be kept at a safe distance from combustible
materials as well as from load-bearing reinforced concrete walls at the back and sides. For further
details on the necessary safety distances for your stove, please refer to the ‘Technical Information’
data sheet or the type plate attached to the stove.
The safety distances to combustible and valuable objects have been measured based on an
insulated flue pipe. Please observe the safety information and distances specified by the flue pipe
manufacturer. This may increase the necessary safety distance.
Safety distances from combustible and valuable objects (such as wood, wooden panelling and
furniture), as well as from load-bearing walls made of reinforced concrete, must be observed at
all costs for your safety. The distance to non-combustible and non-valuable objects and materials
can be reduced; however, we recommend maintaining a minimum distance of 5 cm at the back
for optimal use of the convection heat.
For installations in Germany, observing the safety distances to combustible materials ensures
compliance with the German Firebox Ordinance (FeuVO), which governs the regulations for the
installation of burners.
The stove must not be put into operation before it has been approved by a responsible local
chimney sweep!
