Safety instructions
General
• For reasons of safety, the pushing aid should be opera-
ted only by persons who have been trained in its hand-
ling and who are physically and mentally capable of
operating the PowerStroll in all operating situations.
• The PowerStroll may under no circumstances be used
by the wheelchair user alone.
• During assembly, it must be ensured that the wheels of
the PowerStroll are as close as possible to the center of
the 24” wheels of the wheelchair. In some wheelchair
models, the pushing aid can also be mounted in front
of the cross-brace of the wheelchair. This allows more
legroom for the assistant.
• We recommend always mounting anti-tilt aids, other-
wise there is a risk of tilting and injury when going up
inclines.
• The PowerStroll should be set to a speed which is com-
fortable for both the assistant as well as the wheelchair
user.
• If the battery is connected to or disconnected from the
PowerStroll or the charging unit, it should be ensured
that both the charging unit as well as the manual con-
trol of the PowerStroll are switched off.
• The PowerStroll must be secured during transport. It is
also recommended to unplug the battery.
• The battery may be charged only with the charging
unit supplied with the PowerStroll. The use of another
charging unit can lead to damage or injuries.
• The PowerStroll may be influenced by certain electro-
magnetic waves. Close proximity to mobile telepho-
nes, radio transmitters, and radio stations of emer-
gency services should be avoided. Influences by other
household devices are not known. In the event of unin-
tentional driving behavior, switch off the PowerStroll
and contact your dealer.
• Do not use the PowerStroll in snow or heavy rain. The
PowerStroll could be damaged as a result. The Pow-
erStroll should be protected against moisture or long-
term direct sun exposure.
• Do not drive your PowerStroll over a deep, soft surface
(such as soft sand, thick grass, loose gravel).
• NEVER drive your PowerStroll through deeper water
and never clean your PowerStroll with a high-pressure
cleaner.
• The control system must always be switched off when
not in use.
• To prevent unauthorized use, simply remove the con-
trol panel after unplugging when not in use and store
it in a dry, safe place until the next use. A click closure
allows you to remove or replace the control panel wit-
hout needing any tools.
Battery
• Do not drop, strike, crush, or otherwise abuse the bat-
tery since the corrosive battery cell contents can be
exposed as a result.
• If the battery leaks, do not allow the liquid to come into
contact with skin or eyes. In the case of contact, wash
the affected area with plenty of water and seek medi-
cal advice.
• Do not expose the battery to fire or extreme heat. Do
not burn. Do not expose the battery to intense heat
since this can cause an explosion. Avoid storage in
direct sunlight.
• Do not expose the battery to water, rain, or any type
of moisture.
• Do not crush, disassemble, pierce, or short-circuit the
connection terminals.
• Do not open, disassemble, or try to repair the battery;
it does not contain any parts which can be repaired.
• Do not arbitrarily store the batteries in a container in
which they can short-circuit each other or be short-cir-
cuited by other metal objects.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Keep batteries clean and dry.
• Use the battery only for the application for which it is
intended.
• Regularly check the connection cable, connection
heads, and power supply for a secure fit, damage, or
signs of wear. Do not use if damaged.
• Fully charge the battery prior to initial use. Maximum
time between charges = 6 months.
• Recommendation: Store the battery at below 25˚C,
with low air humidity, and in a dust-free and non-corro-
sive gas atmosphere. Whenever possible, store batte-
ries fully charged.
• This device contains electrical and/or electronic com-
ponents. Be aware of local regulatory and recycling
regulations for disposing of the device components.
• Dispose of the battery properly.
