Replacing the flexible disc
The flexible abrasive disc included on your Drill Doctor is de-
signed to provide long life with premium self-sharpening ceramic
abrasive. It's intended to be replaced when worn allowing years
of trouble free service. Replacement abrasive discs and diamond
wheels can be purchased through DrillDoctor.com.
1. Unplug the Drill Doctor and remove the 20° knife guide or tool
guide.
2. Hold the flexible disc with one hand and gently loosen/remove
the knob by turning clockwise as shown (left-hand thread).
3. Inspect the hub and knob for cracking, wear or other signs of
defects. Contact Drill Doctor for service or parts if needed.
4. Install a new flexible disc onto the hub as shown and tighten
the knob finger tight by turning counter-clockwise (left-hand
thread). Avoid bending or kinking the flexible disc. It must be
relatively flat to ensure optimal performance.
5. Reinstall the desired knife or tool guide then start that ma-
chine and ensure the disc rotates freely.
