6. PRACTICAL COOKING TIPS
The oven offers a wide range of alternatives which allow you to cook any type of
food in the best way possible. Eventually you will learn to make the best use of this
versatile cooking appliance and the following directions are only a guideline which
may vary according to your own personal experience.
PREHEATING
If the oven must be preheated (this is generally the case when
cooking fermented foods) mode "multiple-bake" mode and "quick cooking" can be
used to reach the desired temperature as quickly as possible with the in order to
save energy. Once the food has been placed in the oven, the most appropriate
cooking mode can be selected then.
COOKING WITH MORE THAN ONE GRILL
If you must cook using several grills, also use baking mode since this is the only way
that allows it. When cooking delicate food on more than one rack, use baking mode,
which allows you to cook on 3 racks at the same time (first, third and fifth from the
bottom). Some examples are included in the table practical cooking tips.
When cooking other food on several racks, use multiple cooking modes bearing in
mind the following suggestions:
The oven is equipped with 5 grills. During fan assisted cooking, use two of the
central grids; grills at the top and bottom receive direct hot air so delicate food
could be burned in these grills.
As a general rule, use the second and fourth grid from below. Placing the
foods that need more heat in the second grid from below. For example, when
cooking meat to roast them with other food, place the meat on the grill second
from the bottom and the more delicate food on the grill fourth from bottom.
When cooking foods which require different times and temperatures, set a
temperature that is between the two temperatures required, place the most
delicate foods in the fourth grid from below and remove foods that require
less time first.
Use the dripping pan on the bottom rack and the rack on top.
USING THE "QUICK COOK" MODE
Functional, quick and convenient for those using pre-packaged products (such as:
previously baked and frozen food), along with other foods. You will find useful
suggestions in the "Practical Cooking Advice" table.
