Careful cleaning and disinfection of the device is
one of the most important conditions for proper
use of the estrous detector
• Before and after each measurement the ESTROUS
DETECTOR must be disinfected. Dirty or greasy
electrodes may lead to distorted results (too high
results). The presence of urine or liquids containing
salt will distort the results (too low results) that is
why it is so important to keep the probe and the
entire device clean
• In addition, it is advised to wipe the probe off
carefully with a paper towel, so that no dirt, faeces,
mucus or hair are left, in particular on electrode
edges. In order to disinfect the device properly it
is best to clean the probe thoroughly with water.
Afterwards, immerse the probe in a container with
a disinfectant solution
noTe!
Do not wash in very hot or boiling water.

• To disinfect, use a disinfectant solution prepared
in a container (a plastic bucket). The first container
should be used for washing and the other for
disinfecting the device.
• Disinfectant concentration should be adjusted
as recommended by the manufacturer. The most
often recommended solutions are the ones with
the concentration of 0.5-1%. Disinfection time
should be at least several tens of seconds in order
to ensure that the disinfectant is effective.
