Strictly follow the Instructions for Use
Any use of the Oxy K pro requires full understanding and strict observation
of these instructions.
The Oxy K pro is only to be used for purposes specified here.
Maintenance
The Oxy K pro must be inspected and serviced regularly by trained service
personnel.
Repairs to the Oxy K pro may only be carried out by trained personnel.
We recommend that a service contract be obtained with Dräger Safety and
that all repairs also be carried out by them.
Only authentic Dräger Safety spare parts may be used for maintenance.
Accessories
Only use accessories mentioned in the order list.
Liability for proper function or damage
The liability for the proper function of the breathing device is irrevocably
transferred to the owner or operator to the extent that the Oxy K pro is
improperly serviced or repaired by personnel not employed or authorized
by Dräger Safety or if the Oxy K pro is used in a manner not conforming to
its intended use.
Dräger Safety cannot be held responsible for damage caused by non-com-
pliance with the recommendations given above.
The warranty and liability provisions of the terms of sale and delivery of
Dräger Safety are likewise not modified by the recommendations given
above.
Disposal
Used or opened units have to be disposed professionally, since the reac-
tion between the air humidity and the used chemical can generate an
aggressive base.

Description
Oxy K pro is a breathing device, which operates independently of ambient
air.
According to DIN 58652-1, it has a nominal duration of 30 minutes. A full
face mask is used as breathing connection.
The use of Oxy K pro does not require a G26 inspection according to the
Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Intended Use
The Oxy K pro is to be used once for light work in areas which are either fil-
led with smoke or toxic gases or lacking oxygen, or where there is a mixture
of hydrogen and air or methane and air.
The Oxy K pro has a CE type approval, it is tested according to ATEX regu-
lations and is classified in the following protection classes:

Restriction:
Oxy K pro is only suitable for use in the temperature classes T1, T2,
T3 and T4.
Advice on Use

Do not open the Oxy K pro until it is required for use.
Otherwise humidity in the atmosphere penetrate the open Oxy K pro
and impair its function.

Inspect the Oxy K pro daily.

Use the Oxy K pro only once.

To avoid risk of fire, make sure that no flammable materials (petrol,
grease,solvents etc.) can get into the Oxy K pro before or during opera-
tion. There is also danger of ignition, if the oxygen-releasing chemicals
come into contact with combustible substances such as coal when the
unit is damaged.
Opened units are classified as used and it is not allowed to store them.
They have to be recycled (see “Disposal” on page 9).

Preparing for Use
Checking the carrying case

The carrying case is not damaged (no cracks, holes or similar damage).

Red seal is not damaged.

Indicator is not yellow in colour.
Opening the carrying case

Lift closure.

Loosen knurled screw gently (to
equalise pressure between ambient
air and case).

Open lid.
Preparing the breathing protection device

Take package out of carrying case.

Tear packaging open using red tab.
The indicator spring is no longer needed.

Take breathing protection device out of bag and remove transparent
wrapping.
Donning the breathing protection device

Pull red rubber neck band over
head and place around back of
neck.

Adjust carrying strap so that oxygen
breathing device is in a comfortable
position.

Wrap chest harness round body
and tie in a knot at front.

ATTENTION!
Only use the Oxy K pro if these conditions are met. Otherwise return
the carrying case unopened following the "Dispatch Rules" (see “Dis-
patch Rules” on page 9).
