1.
Turn the Fuel Shut-Off Valve to the OFF position ( Figure 18 ).
2.
Using a 7/16" Wrench or Socket, remove the three Bolts, Lock Washers, and
Flat Washers that retain the Pulley Cover and remove the Cover (
Figure 4 on
page 11 ).
3.
Remove the Strain Relief (with Wire Harness) from the Fuel Tank Mount by
pushing the tabs in with a screwdriver and pushing it out of the cutout.
4.
Disconnect the Throttle Cable from the Engine and then slide it from behind
the Fuel Tank Straps. See page 12 and follow the steps in the reverse order
for your Engine.
5.
Using a 1/2" Wrench or Socket, remove the four Bolts and Lock Washers
that retain the Fuel Tank Mount (
Figure 18
).
6.
Carefully lift and set the Fuel Tank Mount ( Figure 19 ) to the Fuel Line side of
the Engine.
7.
Using a 9/16" Wrench, remove the top Nut from the Belt Tension Spring
Mounting Stud (
Figure 20
).
8.
Using a Hooked End Pulling Tool, remove the Belt Tension Spring from the
Mounting Stud by hooking the Tool in the Spring End and pulling the Spring
up and over the Stud
9.
Using a 7/16" Wrench or Socket, remove the two Bolts and Lock Washers
that retain the Rear Access Panel on the Mower (
Figure 21 ) and remove the
Panel.
10.
Slip the old Drive Belt from the Drive Pulley ( Figure 22 ) and from the Pulley
beneath the Engine at the Rear of the Mower.
11.
To install the new Belt, follow the above procedure in the reverse order
making sure that the Belt is on the inside of the Tension Pulley (
Figure 20 ).
