How can I can I re-send SNMP Traps for any standing alarms if I have already acknowledged all alarms?
A.
You can send a Resync/Synch Request in your SNMP manger by setting your dpsRTUIdent mib to
1.3.6.1.4.1.2682.1.2.1.

and set the field to 1 — see section 8.3 (SNMP Manager Functions).

The NetGuardian 216 supports the bulk of MIB-2.
Q.
How many traps are triggered when a single point is set or cleared? The MIB defines traps like major alarm
set/cleared, RTU point set, and a lot of granular traps, which could imply that more than one trap is sent when
a change of state occurs on one point.

Generally, a single change of state generates a single trap, but there are two exceptions to this rule. Exception
1: the first alarm in an all clear condition generates an additional summary point set trap. Exception 2: the
final clear alarm that triggers an all clear condition generates an additional summary point clear trap.
