BOILER MAINTENANCE
To maintain the boiler in perfect working order, a yearly overhaul is to be performed by
DOMUSA’s
authorised personnel.
16.1
Cleaning the boiler
To keep the boiler in perfect working order, we recommend cleaning the boiler chamber,
exhaustion ducts and condenser on a yearly basis. A cleaning brush of a suitable size for cleaning
the inside of the exhaustion ducts is supplied with the boiler for this purpose. This brush is located
at the rear of the boiler, beside the condenser.
The combustion chamber and exhaustion ducts should not be cleaned using chemical products
or hard steel brushes
. Special care should be taken after any cleaning operation has been carried
out to perform several ignition cycles, checking all the elements are functioning correctly.
For correct cleaning, the following recommendations should be carefully observed:
Cleaning the boiler body
- Open and remove the outer door of the boiler.
- Disassemble the burner
(2)
by unscrewing the fixing nut on the top of the burner.
- Remove the combustion chamber door and exhaustion duct cover, unscrewing the six fixing
nuts located beside them.
- Clean the exhaustion ducts on the steel body, using the cleaning brush supplied with the
boiler.
- Clean the boiler combustion chamber. We recommend using a soft brush for scraping the
combustion chamber surfaces, and a blower to remove scale.
- After cleaning, replace the combustion chamber door, the exhaustion duct cover, the burner
and the outer door of the boiler.
Cleaning the condenser
- Open and remove the outer top cover of the boiler, to access the condenser, located on the
rear of the steel body.
- Open the top cover of the condenser to access its exhaustion ducts. To open this cover,
release the bracket holding it in place and then pull it upwards to remove it.
- Remove the fume deflectors, located inside the exhaustion ducts.
- Clean the exhaustion ducts using the cleaning brush supplied with the boiler. Any scale will
fall through the condensation drain and into the bottom cover of the condenser.
- If the bottom cover of the condenser needs cleaning, remove one of the outer side panels of
the boiler to access the cover and open it.
- After cleaning, replace the fume deflectors, the top condenser cover and the top outer cover
of the boiler. Then put the cleaning brush back in the inside of the boiler.
