STEP 3: SEALING ON THE BACK OF THE EVAPORATOR
Preparing the sheet metal for the backside
1.
Glue the 24 cm long stripe of the sealing tape centered
at the inside of the straight sheet metal as shown. The
overlapping shall be between 2 and 5 mm.
Caution!
Do not touch the sheet metal parts without wearing
work gloves as the acidic hand sweat etches the
fingerprints even into stainless steel surfaces and to
avoid injuries.
Before gluing check the correct orientation of the part
and the positioning of the sealing tape. The gluing must
be done carefully to ensure that the gaps are closed,
and no water can splash through.
Assembling of the sheet metal for the back side
1.
Assemble the sheet metal at the back of the evaporator
at the inside of the plastic water basin as shown.
2.
To do this insert the metal sheet first at the left side
between the plastic wall and the metal bracket of the
evaporator (1.)
3.
To check: Correct orientation of the part is when the 2
short bends left and right of the sheet metal are at the
bottom and point in the direction of the evaporator.
4.
Move the sheet metal down (2.) and at the same time
move it to the right (3.) until it fits in the yellow marked
area.
5.
Glue the protruding ends of the butyl round cord to the
sheet metal as shown to close the gap in this area.
Caution!
Before gluing check the correct orientation of the part
and the positioning of the sealing tape. The gluing must
be done carefully to ensure that the gaps are closed,
and no water can splash through.
Sealing in the middle with the sealing tape
1.
Press the sheet metal to the plastic wall, fold down the
sealing tape and glue it to the plastic and EPP part as
shown.
