MECHANICAL OPERATIONS

4. MG OPERATION

ISO and JIS magnetic stripes are located on opposite faces of the card. Position of this card printer’s magnetic
head is fixed, and therefore different models are used respectively for the ISO and JIS specifications.
ISO

: Magnetic head moves from back to front to perform recording/playback of magnetic data.

JIS

: Magnetic head moves from front to back to perform recording/playback of magnetic data.

5. IC OPERATION

As mentioned above, IC position on the card is fixed while ISO and JIS magnetic stripes are located on opposite
faces of the card. As position of this card printer’s magnetic head is fixed, IC contact position will be reversed for
ISO and JIS.
