Safety notices
1.1 Re: Operating Manual
Read this operating manual carefully be-
fore using the appliance.
Keep the operating manual for reference.
Include the operating manual if you pass
the appliance to third parties.
Violations of the operating instructions
can lead to severe injuries as well as dam-
ages to the appliance.
We take no responsibility for damages due to
violations of the operating instructions.
Notices for your safety are especially marked.
Always observe thes notices to avoid acci-
dents and damages to the appliance.
1.2 Re: Mains connection
Danger of electric schock!
The appliance runs on electrici-
ty, that means there is always
danger of electric schock. So
please especially observe the
following:
Nevere immerse the water kettle in water
or other liquids. Only fill the appliance with wa-
ter in the prescribed way.
Remove the kettle from its base for filling.
The base may under no circumstances come
into contact with liquids. Thus the outside of
the kettle must be dry when it is set onto the
base.
Never touch the mains plug or the base
with wet hands.
Always pull directly at the plug if you want
to discoonnect the appliance from the mains.
Never pull the mains lead, it might break.
Make sure the mains lead is not buckled,
pinched, run over or operated close to sourc-
es of water or heat.
Always placehe lead in such a way that it
does not present an accident hazard. Only un-
ravel the lead as far as it is necessary.
Make sure the voltage of your power sup-
ply is the same as the aplliance's voltage be-
fore connecting the appliance to the mains.
Wrong voltage can destroy the appliance.
Only use sockets with a ground/safety
contact.
Do not use multiple sockets. If necessary
uise only approved simple extention cables of
sufficient capacity for the appliance's power
requirements.
The mains plug must fit into the socket
easily. Never use force when inserting the
plug into a socket. Never modify mains plugs
Never put other appliances onto the water
kettle's base unit.
Always switch off the appliance and dis-
connect it from the mains before performing
cleaning or maintenance.
1.3 If the appliance is defective
Never use a defective appliance or oper-
ate an appliance with a defective power cord.
If the power cord of this appliance is damaged
it must be replaced by the manufacturers,
their authorised service representative or a
similarly qualified person to avoid danger.
Bring or send defective appliances to a
specialist dealer or to Royal Appliance Cus-
tomer Services for repair,
