IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVICE

•  Because the Dimplex Quartz Radiant Heater contains no moving parts little 

maintenance is required. Before undertaking any maintenance work on the 

heater due attention must be paid to the following:

•  The installation of these appliances must always be carried out by a 

competent electrician and be in accordance with the current wiring 

regulations and relevant Building Regulations.

•  The radiated heat from the heater is considerable and must be taken into 

account when locating the heater. Ensure that the heater is not used in close 

proximity to the skin or eyes.

•  Always isolate the heater from the supply before undertaking any 

maintenance work on the appliance.

•  This heater is designed to be horizontally wall mounted  only, it must not be 

ceiling mounted.

•  Always ensure a safe mounting height, at or above a minimum height of 1.8 

metres from ground level, so that the heater can not be touched when in 

operation.

•  The heater must be wall mounted level ± 5º to the horizontal.
•  Do not locate the heater immediately above or below a fixed socket outlet or 

connection box.

•  This heater must not be located immediately above or below a fixed socket 

outlet or connection box.

•  The heater must be installed in a location that is free from vibration.
•  The QXD range of heaters are designed for internal use only. They are not 

rated as flame-proof and must not be used when flammable dusts, gases, or 

vapours, etc. are likely to be present in the atmosphere. If in doubt, advice 

should be sought from the Health and Safety Executive inspectors or local fire 

officers.

•  Quartz lamps are extremely fragile and must be handled with extreme care 

at all times. Avoid touching the surface of the quartz sleeve with bare fingers. 

If the sleeve is accidentally touched remove the finger print with a soft cloth 

moistened with methylated spirits.

•  The life expectancy of the halogen lamps in normal operating conditions is 

over 3000 hours.

WARNING

1.  This appliance must be earthed.
2.  Means for disconnection from the electrical supply must be incorporated in 

the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring regulations.

3.  Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a 

swimming pool.

4.  This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
