Do this...
If the fiber-link LED of the
receiving port lights, the idle
signal is present.
Check the cable to the
external device, and check
the external device for
correct operation.
If the fiber-link LED of the
receiving port does not come on
Replace the cable with a
known good cable.
If the fiber-link LED of the
receiving port still fails to come
on
Replace the repeater.
The port 2 status LED
is off.
Port 2 is either segmented or the
LED has failed.
Check to see if port 2
status LED is defective.
Remove all front panel
connections and the port
0 connection. Power
the repeater off and on.
Ensure that the port 2
status LED lights and
remains on.
If port 2 status LED does not
light and remain on
Replace the repeater.
If port 2 status LED lights and
remains on
Restore all port connec-
tions on the repeater.
Check port 0 and port 1 status
LEDs. If both port status LEDs
are off
Check to see that port 0 or
1 are properly connected
to active network
segments. Using previous
troubleshooting steps,
ensure that either port 0
or port 1 is functioning
before troubleshooting port
2.
If either port 0 or port 1 status
LEDs are on, and port 2 status
LED goes off, it is likely that
port 2 is segmented. Correction
of the segmentation fault should
correct the problem.
Check the AUI connection.
Ensure that the cable is
properly connected and the
slide latches are secured.
