— Initializes controller, bank configuration information on a DECmpp Sx
disk array, Version 1.1
Syntax
dabinit -b bank [-t disktype] -m 4or8drives diskarray
Description
Installing a disk array, upgrading a disk array bank, or adding a new disk
array bank requires initialization of configuration parameters on the disk array
controller. The
dabinit
command is used when a bank is upgraded or a new
bank is added. The disk array controller’s Bank Control/Status Configuration is
initialized.
The argument
diskarray
is a character special file associated with the disk array
controller to which the command should be sent.
Options
-b bank
Use this option to specify the bank number; valid
banks
are 1–4.
-t disktype
Use this option to specify the type of disks that make up the bank. The
variable
disktype
is a digit. The type of disk that corresponds to
disktype
can
be determined with the
dadisk(8)
command.
-m 4or8drive
Use this option to specify the number of data disks in the bank; valid numbers
are 4 and 8.
Restrictions
Root privileges are required to execute this command.
