5. Save the instrument configuration.
Add the additional instruments (e.g., the pressure transducer)
Click the “Add Instrument” button and select the new instrument to be added to the method from the
dropdown list.
In this case, select “PDR 2000” and give the instrument a name (e.g. Pressure
Sensor). Click
“Add” to open the PDR 2000 configuration window where the COM port can be
selected.
Make sure the cables connecting the pressure controller to the pressure sensor and the PC are
correctly connected and the pressure controller has power. Once configured, click
“Test” to verify
the connection. Click
“Save” to exit.

Signals components
Now that instruments have been added to the method, signals must be defined.
1. To create the first Signals component, right-click the Signals icon and select
“New Signal”
from the menu
or click “Add Signal” in the toolbar. The Edit Signal window opens (Figure
12).
