Digital I/O Connector (daughter board)
The Digital I/O connector provides 8 digital input or output ports to enable monitor and control
of the state of the connected external devices. You can use the provided HW Utility to config
-
ure a port to be either input or output. Please refer to Chapter 8 for more information.

COM4 to COM6 can be selected among RS232, RS422 and RS485 via jumper settings.
In addition, COM4 and COM5 can be switched between normal RS232 and RS232 with power.
For pin definitions and jumper selection for different communication modes, please refer to
Chapter 4.
The serial ports are asynchronous communication ports with 16C550A-compatible UARTs that
can be used with modems, serial printers, remote display terminals, and other serial devices.
• BIOS Setting
Configure the serial ports with advanced options such as the RS485 auto flow mechanism in
the Advanced menu (“Super IO Configuration” submenu) of the BIOS. Refer to Chapter 7 for
more information.
